Embarking on My Blogging Journey: A Reflective Look at My First Six Weeks
It’s Friday again, and what a week it’s been! There were moments when I truly thought I wouldn’t be able to maintain my promise of two blog posts per week. But guess what? I managed to do it! I’m sharing this little victory with you because it made me so proud, like a silent pat on my own back. It’s these tiny triumphs that add a silver lining to our everyday lives, isn’t it?
This week, a revelation hit me. The key to smooth sailing in the blogging world is simplicity. Pour out your thoughts, share your passions, and that’s the secret recipe to contentment. When you’re writing about what you love and what you believe in, it doesn’t feel like work, it’s more like having a heart-to-heart with dear friends, which is exactly how I think of you, my lovely readers.
Unlocking Focus: The Transformative Power of Reading in My Life
I’ve been really trying to work on my focus also, I’m very quick to be scatterbrained and always get distracted like I have ADHD or something. Maybe I do? I don’t know. But one thing is for sure, I am easily distracted, I would start on one thing and go work on something else, totally random things at that which is so weird to me.
Since I’ve been starting to read more, I have found I’ve learned the skill of focusing on one thing more. Now, you might think of reading as a leisurely pastime, a luxurious treat at the end of a long day. And while it’s absolutely that, it’s also so much more.
Believe it or not, reading is like a workout for our minds, a gentle but effective exercise that can significantly improve our focus. Each time we immerse ourselves in a story, we’re not just turning pages; we’re training our brains to concentrate, to stay on one task without getting sidetracked. As we follow the twists and turns of the plot, our minds are practicing the art of staying present and attentive.
And guess what? This newly honed focus doesn’t just vanish when we put the book down. It spills over into our daily lives, helping us stay focused on tasks at hand, whether it’s writing a blog post, completing a project, or simply being present in the moment.

My favorite read of the week
In between drafting posts and living life, I managed to indulge in one of my favorite pastimes – reading. This week’s pick was ‘Housemaid Secrets’ by Freida McFadden, the second in the ‘Housemaid’ series. Pick up a copy here: https://amzn.to/43E4vED
Here’s a taste without spoiling anything: “Don’t go in the guest bedroom,” “Don’t go in the guest bedroom.” A shadow falls on Douglas Garrick’s face as he touches the door with his fingertips. “My wife… she’s very ill.” As he continues showing me their incredible penthouse apartment, I have a terrible feeling about the woman behind closed doors. But I can’t risk losing this job—not if I want to keep my darkest secret safe…
Intrigued, aren’t you?
Thrillers have always been my favorite genre, they add that dash of adrenaline to my tranquil tea-time. My ambitious goal this year is to devour 35 books. Admittedly, I’m lagging a bit behind, but I am determined to catch up. Wish me luck, dear ones!
Until next Friday, keep it simple and follow your joy. Love and light to all.
