“Life is like a moving train, it just keeps going – and even after stopping at a pit stop to pick up more and more loads, it will continue to move.” -Hai Path
Week 1 was tough. There was not much writing but more planning, and lots of getting this WordPress theme worked out, and by that I mean I spent a whole week figuring out how to get this blog set up, learning about pages, categories, menu navigation, and so on. There’s so much to learn as I am brand new at WordPress but I know I’m capable of making this work.
At the beginning of it all, I was going to start to learn the world of programming after my husband Trey had introduced me to the world of coding. In this time of ChatGPT coming out and all the tech around literally everything in the world, I thought it would be a great idea to get into the field – I went digging, watching Youtube videos about what’s the best course of action and I stumbled across Harvard’s CS50 classes online which are free and was going to start on Codecademy to learn computer science and take Python For Everyone Course.
But then, am I doing this just to be doing something or am I doing this out of passion?
“Allow your passion to become your purpose, and it will one day become your profession.” -Quoteistan
I got into a conversation with my husband in the car one day, I forgot exactly what we were talking about or how it got to the conversation on this topic of passion but it got intense. To me at least. He asked me if I chose to learn coding and programming because I really wanted to do it or am I just doing it to make money.
At the end of the day, I started to get into it because I needed a new way to make money. I knew there was a market for more programmers and I knew it was something I could make great money with but it was not because of passion.
Trey my husband always was my life guide and he’s the wisest man I know. (I’m still convincing him to slowly get into the world of sharing his thoughts and a podcast with me). He came up with this analogy that stuck with me and that is:
“Life is like a moving train.” -TCulli
You’re always moving, it’s picking up more and more loads and still moving, it will never stop. So you want to make sure the structure and foundation are set and well managed because if it isn’t and you keep bringing on more loads, it doesn’t matter if you’re tired or it’s getting too hard, it will keep moving. I’ve thought a lot about this and my train is full I tell ya. But I still felt like starting this blog was a great idea.
You see this is not the first time I wanted to create a blog this will be the third blog I’ve started. But I’ve never been consistent enough to keep going with any blog and I am not the greatest at keeping structure and keeping a schedule. But after starting our first legit family business I now finally see the true meaning of consistency and understand what can come out of being consistent!
I want to start this blog with full confidence and a plan. I’ve been studying the Art of Blogging and how it can truly be a profitable business and I want to share with you step-by-step how I’m creating this. So if you’re here reading this, just know that this blog is in the very beginning stages but you’re about to witness an average work-from-home mom grow this blog into an empire.
I’d love it if you’d join me, subscribe to my email list, and let’s grow this business together.
