I started a blog in 2023, heres what I learned week 11

If you’ve been following my journey since I started this blog, you know I’ve been promising myself to post at least two blog posts a week. Simple, right? Well, this week life decided to test my mettle. Between juggling work, family, and everything else, I barely had a minute to think, let alone write.

This past week almost broke me. Between work, life, and the holidays, it felt like there was scarcely a moment to breathe, let alone put fingers to keyboard and articulate my thoughts.

Facing Down Temptation: The Battle Between Commitment and Relaxation

The temptation to drop the ball this week was almost overpowering, especially with the 4th of July as we took the day off to spend time with the family, enjoy ourselves and rest.

But then, late at night, when the fireworks were all spent, I had this lightbulb moment. I remembered why I started this whole blogging thing in the first place. It wasn’t about being a writing machine or hitting some imaginary target. No, it was all about having fun with words, sharing my crazy experiences, and sticking to a project that I could call my own.

The Eternal Tug-of-War: Motivation vs. Laziness

Now, let’s chat about this pesky little bugger called inner motivation. You know, that tiny voice that pushes you to keep going when all you want to do is bury your head in the sand? Yeah, we all know it too well. This week, my inner motivation had a boxing match with my other less friendly voice, the one I call ‘lazy couch potato mode.’

Don’t let the Inner Lazy Couch Potato Mode Take over, ever.

There were moments, I’ll admit, where I asked myself, “Why am I even bothering? Is anyone actually reading this?” The deafening silence seemed to echo back, “Probably not!” Lazy couch potato mode was smirking, ready to declare victory.

But just when I was about to throw in the towel, a counter thought swooped in. The truth, as plain as day, hit me – consistency is king. It’s not about whether someone’s reading today, or even tomorrow. It’s about putting out content consistently, proving to myself and to the world that I can stick to it. It’s not always about the applause but the journey of creating something meaningful week after week. So here’s to all of us fighting the good fight, wrestling with our inner couch potato and showing up anyway.

Just show up every day – We’re all in this together

Here we are, at the end of week 11. What’s the key takeaway? Simply this – keep showing up. No matter the goal – blogging, fitness, learning a new skill, it’s all about sticking to it.

Truth be told, I’m just like any newbie blogger. There are days filled with doubt, and moments when the comfort of my couch nearly wins. But guess what? I still hit ‘publish’, because I believe in the power of consistency. It’s our trusty sidekick in this journey, propelling us to grow over time.

As we approach week 12, remember, I’m not just a blogger. I’m a dreamer, grappling with the same challenges as you, one blog post at a time. And honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Stay tuned for more adventures. Let’s keep showing up, pressing ‘publish’, and trusting that every effort is shaping us for the better. Until next week, my fellow bloggers, let’s keep the spirit high!
